I’m just talking here.

little old bandwagon me

I’ve been cherishing the possibility of finishing this sweater for the Fair (one month to deadline, BTW, with a vacation in there, which will help). Sometime last week I realized that the Harry Potter book would be arriving at my house on Saturday, and I got a little uneasy. It took a while for the story to get going, but sure enough… now all I want to do is read. Just like everyone else.

I’m about halfway through, I think. I’ve also solved the buttonhole problem (after starting over one more time, spending two days practicing, and redoing the relevant rows three or four times Saturday night) (exciting life I have, eh?). Each right-side row begins pkpkp for the seed stitch band. I’ve ended up with p, k, p2tog, yo, p. It’s not totally perfect, because the p2tog eliminates the knit stitch in the middle, and the buttonhole itself is in the fourth stitch from the edge rather than the third (this may be the thing that eliminates my sweater from any kind of competition — they are PICKY at the Fair). But it works, and the 4th stitch is better than the 2nd. I decided against binding off and casting on because I can’t make the cast-on stitches consistently tight, and “good enough” WILL NOT DO here.

That is all.
